Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. She is most famous for her character, detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she won an Emmy Award. Her other credits include her role on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. She was born as the only child of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney grew up with her four brothers. She envisioned being a reporter for the court in the early years of her life, however she began modelling at high school, eventually earning commercials when she moved from New York. Her first acting job was as a teenager in All My Children, a soap opera from 1981. Delaney is an acclaimed actress who has been in many films, TV movies, and dramas. Delaney has not lived a good or satisfying personal life. The skilled actor struggled with alcoholism and has had two failed marriages. The year 2005 was the time she lost custody of the sole child that she had.
